Art at Times: IS OUT OF THE MUSEUM
Art can be visited in a museum, but it can also be encountered on the street, in a square, in public spaces.
Art outside the museum is foremost art outside the institutions, outside tradition: its audience is sometimes unaware, bewildered and amazed by its presence, or sometimes it is a loyal audience that seeks it out to the ends of the earth.
Public Art is characterised by the placement of works directly in urban spaces.
In this case, the works are designed especially for a location, and they are called site-specific.
But what are the elements that have allowed art to leave the museum?
The creation of a new and more direct relationship between art and life, with the consequent expansion of the environment in which the work of art manifests itself;
the reflection on the limits of artistic languages and the art system and social criticism
