Art at Times: IS A FREE LAND
Land Art emerged in the late 1960s, in dialogue with nature, open and unspoilt places.
During those years, many artists felt the need to leave galleries, museums and institutions behind to rediscover direct contact with the natural environment and a new sense of “making art”.
Land Art works are created in nature and with nature: sometimes they are ephemeral and follow the cyclical nature of time, other times they are permanent signs in dialogue with the landscape.
Today, Land Art continues to inspire many contemporary artists, who reflect on the complex relationship between humanity and the environment, cultivating a new ecological and community-based way of thinking.
